You will see the Anafiotika district, go past the Roman Market, see the tower of the Winds and the Library of Hadrian and arrive at Monastiraki square with the flea market. You will start your tour at the pedestrian Acropolis street, right outside the Acropolis metro station. After meeting with your local, licensed guide, you will head for Plaka through little Vironos street. On the way to Anafiotika you will pass in front of the Lysicrates monument. You will walk along Tripodon street and you will see the Byzantine church of Ragavas, and the street art on the walls of the narrow streets of the area. Anafiotika will appear all of a sudden and will amaze you with the little old houses, the colors and the architecture. This neighborhood is similar to one of the Greek islands of the Aegean sea, Anafi, where this area took the name from. Here you will take nice pictures, you will admire the view of the Lycabettus hill and see the little church of St. George, built on the rocks.Next stop will be the Greek orthodox church of St. Anargyri, an amazing church related to stories, legends and facts that are significant to the orthodox religion.You will continue your way to Plaka, through picturesque, traditional paths, stairs, little streets, passing in front of old houses, taverns and little coffee shops until you will see the tower of the winds.Walking down the street you will see the remains of Hadrian’s library and Monastiraki square, full of people, music and nice smells from the nearby taverns. You will cross Ermou street and will finally indulge yourselves by tasting authentic Greek delicacies, in 3 different food stops in the area of Psiri and Heroon square.First stop, the famous greek spinach pie and bougatsa, a special phyllo filled with several savory fillings.
